Reading the foreword by Kevin Henney to Clean Architecture, it feels like he really doesn't understand architecture of buildings and environment.
I find they actually share a lot in terms of abstractions and design processes.
I would further argue that #software #architecture and design, being rather unregulated as a discipline, could benefit from looking more to processes of architecture of buildings and environment.
In the actual introduction by Robert C. Martin (AKA Uncle Bob) the course is corrected by him making an apter analogy between the architecture of his house and software.
Did not get far in the book yet, but it seems very promising based on his approach focused on fundamentals. "The only way to go fast, is to go well."

It's the first time I have heard Garry Kasparov talk.
The way he talks for instance about the conflict in Ukraine, Putin, the future with AI and how societies should prepare, I find really clear-sighted.
And all this in 2017!

I highly recommend listening to the discussion for yourself or reading the transcript through here:
https://conversationswithtyler.com/episodes/garry-kasparov/I came across this, because lately I have been really enjoying old episodes of Conversations with Tyler, where the economist Tyler Cowen talks with a wide variety of very interesting people.
Going back to Garry Kasparov, a phrase of his that stuck with me was about a "test of connecting the past and the present and the future". In his talk I felt an overarching observation of the unchanging human condition.
I have personally found this true. Regardless of culture, time or location, there seem to be qualities in the nature of our existence that supersede these dimensions.
One can sense these currents in literature, art, mathematics; life itself. For me this is beauty.
Seems I got pretty excited. 🌝 I felt like I found a kindred spirit, so perhaps there's also reason to be.
Anyways, I hope this inspires someone to give the talk a listen (or the transcript a read).

I just started reading The Buried Giant from Kazuo Ishiguro. I'm impressed how the beginning feels like a fairytale, but completely unforced. The text flows beautifully and it feels effortless to read. I think I'm going to thoroughly enjoy this one.
